Detailed technical description: Tie rod pneumatic cylinder with integrated shock absorber (Cushioning) Model/Type: Standard industrial tie rod pneumatic cylinder with cushioning integrated into one or both ends. The tie rod design is the most common for medium to large pneumatic cylinders, offering durability and ease of maintenance. Basic dimensions: Bore Diameter: 160 mm Rod Diameter: 40 mm Stroke Length: 160 mm (0.16 m) Design and Construction (Tie Rod Design): Tie Rod Construction: The cylinder is assembled with 4 steel tie rods (typically) that pass through the ends of the front and rear caps and are connected with nuts from the outside. This ensures a strong, dismountable construction for periodic maintenance (such as replacing seals). Caps: Front cap (head cap) and rear cap (end cap), often made of cast aluminum or steel. Piston rod: Made of hardened and tempered steel to resist corrosion and deformation. Piston: Contains seals to prevent air leakage between the two pressure chambers, and may be equipped with a lubrication ring or designed for oil-free operation. Integrated shock absorption/cushioning system: Purpose: To reduce the shock caused by the piston hitting the cylinder head at the end of the stroke, resulting in: Significant noise reduction (from a loud metallic clang to a soft sound). Reducing vibrations that damage the cylinder and the machine mounted on it. Extending the service life of all mechanical components. Improving control and enabling higher operating speeds. How it works (at the end of the stroke): Before the piston reaches the end of its travel, a protruding part of it (usually the “nose” of the piston) enters a special conical or cylindrical area in the cover. This closes the normal air escape port. The remaining air in the end chamber is forced out through a narrow, adjustable passage (adjustable needle valve). This restriction creates air resistance that increases the pressure in the chamber, gradually and smoothly slowing the piston before it contacts the rubber pad at the end of the cap. Adjustment: The effectiveness of the damper is adjusted by turning the needle valve on the cap: Clockwise: slows down more (increases damping time). Counterclockwise: slows down less (decreases damping time). Over-adjusting the closure may prevent the piston from completing its full stroke. Typical applications: General industrial equipment: pneumatic presses, packaging machines, material handling equipment.
