This project is an intersection inspired by the roads in California. It contains the essentials for a useable road such as road lines, arrows, crosswalks, stop lines, etcetera. Plus, the measurements are scaled to real world measurements. More specifically, however, the model also includes two directions of travel with at least two lanes each, stop points, turning guidelines, accurate traffic signs, accurate arrow directions, accurate traffic signals, bike lanes, pedestrian sidewalks, crosswalks, a storm water management infrastructure, pedestrian crosswalk signals, sidewalk and roadway lighting, and a parking lot. To get ideas to build this model, I used Google Maps to find an intersection. I also found ideas online from pictures and by looking around while traveling. An aspect I carefully worked on in this model are the road measurements as they would determine most measurements of everything around it. If I have the chance, I would definitely add more details such as plants, benches, trashcans, and buildings to make the model more alive.
