The ejection system is robust and reliable, designed to release the capsule under supersonic conditions with minimal disturbance at separation. It integrates a set of springs, claws, and a dual parallel vectran-cord actuation system, both cords activating simultaneously to ensure redundancy and a uniform, controlled release. 99% of the components are COTS, making it cost-effective, accessible, and easily replaceable. The symmetric 120° layout promotes a balanced distribution of forces and can help mitigate tip-off when combined with synchronized activation and matched spring forces. At the same time, avoiding rails removes jamming risks, while PTFE bushings with shoulder bolts ensure essentially zero binding. Capsule retention is achieved through six contact points, fully preventing escape while still allowing a clean and instantaneous release that avoids tip-off. The entire system is simple to assemble and adjust in the field, highly modular, and easily adaptable to different capsule sizes. All fasteners are vibration-resistant, and the selected materials perform reliably down to –60 °C, ensuring robustness in stratospheric conditions.
