Tube bracket for fog collectors · 模型 144394
Searching about how to obtain water, I discovered the fog harvesting technology. It consists of a mesh net supported by posts. The mesh captured the water in the air. This technology is used in Yemen, Namibia, South Africa, Chile, etc. I design a tube bracket for making the structure that holds the mesh net. The part has been design with Solid Edge ST10. Generative Design topology optimization has been used to reduce the weight. Because I used the student version, I redesign the part for making a solid part that can be used in assemblies or renders (KeyShot). Material needed • Tube bracket (3D printed) • PVC tubes, bamboo or other kind of tubes (Can be printed) • Mesh (Can be printed) • Screws and nuts • Water tank (Can be printed) • Some tools (drill, saw and Allen wrench) Instructions 1. Get PVC tubes, bamboo or other kind of tubes and cut them 2. Scale the part (if it’s needed) and print it 3. Assembly the structure and fix the Mesh 4. Stick the structure on the ground (Wires can be used for a better fixing, like a camping tent) 5. Place the water tank 6. Wait and then…Use the water inside the water tank! How does it work? A. The air humidity or fog pass through the structure B. Small drops of water are captured by the wires of the mesh C. The drops fall by gravity and are deposited in the bottom tube D. The drops are accumulated in a water tank Main advantages • The structure can be made of different materials (PVC tube, bamboo, etc.) because the tube bracket is completely adaptable, it can be scaled or modified before printing • Minimum material will be used for printing the part (Generative Design has been used to reduce the mass thanks to Solid Edge 10) • Cheap, it can be used in remote and poor areas • The obtained water is suitable for drink
