This is a bottle, commonly referred to as a 'tumbler'. These tumbler bottles are useful, but sometimes they can be very annoying. Especially when you drop these and they spill liquid all over the place. There are a few inventions that cope with this problem, such as the suction cup bottle, which literally has a suction cup at the bottom. However, this solution is inconvenient since you have to pull your bottle apart from the desk to drink, Also, suction cups do not work well on rough surfaces. Under these circumstances, I came up with an idea to lock the lid of the bottle whenever it tipped, or was shaken, by using weights. I added a picture and files of one of my past projects, the 45degree box, which also uses weights and a rack and pinion mechanism to lock the lid in place whenever it tips. The tumbleable tumbler uses the exact same mechanism, with an addition of two pairs of bevel gears. The swinging motion of the weights are converted into a rotational movement of a pinion via bevel gears, and the rack pinion mechanism converts this into a back and forth sliding motion. This means that when the tumbler is tipped or shaken, the swinging of weights inside the tumbler causes the racks to slide into slots in the lid, locking it into place. This allows users to shake, drop, and 'tumble' this particular type of tumbler bottle, without spilling its contents.
