Most stock and prefab designs must be oriented North-South. I designed this four post structure so that it can be oriented anyway you like. It is built with stock 20 foot lengths of steel to minimize fabrication time and material waste. It was certified by a structural engineer in North Carolina. Build cost (2024) was $2600 for concrete, $4500 for onsite welding, $3345 for steel. It is not waterproof - solar racking is attached directly to the purlins. As designed, the maximum angle is 23 degrees. This allows all 4 post to be cut from two 20' lengths of tubing, with a 80" of "headroom" on the low side.
