This frame is not only meant to lift the payload in a "static" scenario, but also accounts for tilting resulting from acceleration, as well as includes additional protection in case of a crash. Although additional material is required to fulfil requirements for dynamic stresses and increased safety measures, the final mass is still way below 90 g in ABS. The enhanced stability is essential for a real flight environment, where a more simple "cross" structure could prove insufficient. The components are mounted on honeycomb structures, which has two benefits: It provides a lightweight docking surface and prevents overheating of the electronics & battery. I have worked with Rhino, Generate, Inspire (mainly because I was encountering performance issues with Frustrum) and Materialise 3-matic.
