A SOLIDWORKS assembly of a Universal Joint (also known as Cardan Joint or Hooke's Joint), consisting of two shafts connected via forked yokes on either end, joined together through a central cross-pin (spider) mechanism. Bushings/bearings are fitted at each shaft-yoke connection to allow smooth relative rotation. This mechanism enables torque and rotational motion to be transmitted between two shafts that are not perfectly aligned, accommodating angular misalignment while maintaining continuous power transmission. Widely used in automotive drive shafts, industrial machinery, and mechanical power transmission systems where flexible shaft coupling is required.
