Through this study, i aimed to design and analyse a locally design roll-cage. CATIA V5 is used to design the roll cage while ANSYS Workbench 17.1 is used to verify the structural performance. The geometric characteristics of inner and outer radius are set according to standards. The material used in this research is A501 hot rolled steel. The force calculated analytically by considering a driver, roll cage weight, and also the payload amounting to 2 kN. Initially, modal analysis was performed to check the connectivity of the members in order to rationalize the load flow is evenly on the structure. Static structural analysis was performed for front, rear, side, roll over, bump and torsional impact to check for the members under high stresses. The analysis was done for two different cross section tube with same dimension to compare the deformation and maximum stress against yield stress of the material. Based on the result, the torsional stiffness, bending stiffness and bending strength are calculated. Bending stiffness and bending strength graph are plotted vs thickness of the wall to validate the sizing of the roll cage is safe. From the result the circular tube was proven to be more stiff compare to the square tube with a weight of 1.08 kg/m.
