A vintage mechanical turntable with gearbox Few days ago, I ran across the attached video and decided to make a replica. It's clear that the model's dimensions aren't quite right because the real gramophone is out of my reach so I can't measure it. The centrifugal governor is a sensing element for angular speed. The bigger the speed, the farther flyballs swing. Oddly enough, to rotate the governor, a worm gear mounted in reverse is used. The mechanical power is transferred from gear to worm, and this setup only works with worms that have a large pitch. The twisted lever is used as a tool to keep the governor stroke and, eventually, vinyl revolutions within limits. To see the gearbox in action, find an iLogic rule in Asssembly2.iam file and run it. IDE: Autodesk Inventor v. 2020. Source files are included.
