A matrix of 64 (8 rows of 8) RGB LED chips WS2812B on a rigid PCB. 24 bits color. This chip has a serial in and serial out line that enables to daisy chain numerous chips. With a frame rate of 30 fps and serial link 400 kbit/s, you can chain up to 1024 chips. Several matrix can be chained together. This one has a size 65.6 x 67.0 mm, with a slight difference between DX 8.16 mm and DY 8.54 mm - not a perfect square matrix. It cost less than 1 € on chinese vendor sites.
