zetec throttle body adapter · 模型 274657
While on my quest for a better Zetec build i've stumbled up on a problem: a "black top" engine intake manifold (the later one, plastic type) has a different sealing method compared to a "silver top" Z's aluminium manifold and TB. The old type inlet's matimg surface is flat and uses a paper gasket (oddly enough i've found a metal one at home), but the newer has a ~1.2mm protrusion and it's throttle body's got a concave to recieve a rubber seal. Also ICV channel is a lot shorter in plastic parts so i've had to sort it somehow, otherwise it'd get an unwanted air in. Here's what i came up with. It's not ideal (as it's only been one iteration), but the rubber seal got it's way in without any struggle. For another side i'd suggest using a silvertop gasket. UPDATE: I've fitted it with some gasket maker and even though self-tapping screws would not look very promising and were too short, it actually works with no problems!
