At first, I thought the project would go smoothly, but I quickly ran into problems. One mistake was adding fillets too early. By the time I reached the thickening stage, SolidWorks threw an error. It made sense I had created fillets of 0.2 mm, then tried to thicken the model by 2 mm, which simply could not work. I had to go back, delete the fillets, and redo that part. Later, after thickening, I noticed imperfections on the front underside. I ignored them at first, but when I made changes and tried to knit again, errors appeared. To fix it, I ended up cutting the front part into three sections and retracing my steps. It was time‑consuming, and I realized I could have saved myself the trouble if I had addressed the issue earlier instead of diagnosing it so late. Performance also became a challenge as the feature tree grew. The model started to lag, but I found a solution: going to Options → System Options → Performance and enabling Enhanced graphics performance. That helped a lot. Another issue was distortion when zooming in, where the model looked pixelated. Adjusting Document Properties → Image Quality and increasing shaded and draft quality HLR/HLV resolution, along with wireframe and high‑quality HLR/HLV resolution, fixed it. If the problem came back after some time, lowering and then raising the settings again worked fine. Looking back, the biggest lesson was about planning. I jumped around too much in the sequence of parts, which made the feature tree messy and harder to follow. If someone else saw it, they would probably be confused. Next time, I’ll plan the order more carefully and avoid rushing into features too early.
