Airless ISO20 Automatic Tool Changer Concept for CNC machines · 模型 116382
Airless ISO20 Automatic Tool Changer concept for CNC machines. The design uses a high torque motor to drive a jack screw to depress the draw bar springs instead of the usual pneumatic piston. The design uses a stack of Belleville spring washers to achieve approximately 3500 N (800 lbs) of clamping draw force on the ISO20 tool holder. The presser plate has three 8mm diameter 2mm pitch T8 threaded rods attached which are run through matching threaded brass nuts that are attached to 24 tooth HTD 3M pulleys who’s movements are constrained with thrust and radial bearings. The jacking motor drives an HTD 3M belt that spins the three jacking nuts simultaneously with enough torque to fully compress the spring washers. The jacking motor should be driven with an H-Bridge drive with current monitoring capabilities. The jacking current is used to detect when the jacking motor stalls in either direction. When the jacking motor stalls in the direction to release the tool holder the jacking current can be greatly reduced to prevent motor over heating while the release position is maintained for an extended time. Stalling the jacking motor in the clamping direction (and then turning it off) will insure that the presser plate does not contact the draw bar studs on the spindle during normal operations. The design lends its self to multiple spindle motor configurations including the two provided. The simplest is to use a flex coupling to directly connect the spindle to whichever type of router/motor is preferred. Alternatively a BLDC motor such as those used on electric skateboards/scooters can be used with a belt and pulley arrangement to achieve higher spindle RPMs. A 270kv motor with a 45V supply could achieve over 30,000rpm using 60 and 24 tooth pulleys.
