Defalco Method: FDM Material: PLA Extreme Redesign Challenge – Burning Snow Over the last few years, global temperatures have been rising, resulting in the melting of ice caps in the poles. Because people are often unaware or don’t care about their actions to the environment, global warming is still an increasing problem. After playing around with different rotations and patterns I realized that that I could create snowflakes of many different designs and styles. Since the message is more important than the art, I decided to go with a simpler snowflake design. My design is a snowflake with a small fire burning at one of its corners. Not only is a snowflake beautiful to look at, but this design also helps to promote awareness of global warming and to get people to realize the effect global warming has on our planet. The snowflake symbolizes the ice caps and environments for animals that live in snow covered regions. The fire on the snowflake is representative of the melting of ice caps and the destruction of environments because of global warming. This design can be worn as a necklace by putting a string through it or hung up somewhere as decoration to promote awareness of global warming.
