Concept Design – Capsule Ejection & Separation Mechanism (NASA SPEED) · 模型 57209
This separation mechanism is designed for NASA’s SPEED project to release test models from a Haack cone into fast air flow. It uses three hinged arms, like a spider, to hold the capsule securely. A solenoid pushes up when triggered by a 5V signal, opening the arms quickly. A central spring then pushes the capsule out backward, and the arms close again. Made with 3D-printed parts and reusable materials like ABS and stainless steel, it’s easy to make and adjustable for different capsules. Simple to build and reuse, it fits the cone’s size and works well in high-altitude conditions.
