Digital Wind Speed Monitoring System-Anemometer · 模型 143882
An anemometer is an instrument used to measure wind speed. This project uses a cup anemometer, a type of mechanical anemometer consisting of three cone-shaped cups mounted on the ends of horizontal arms, positioned at 120° angles from one another, rotating around a central vertical shaft. The working principle is straightforward: wind blowing against the cups pushes harder on the concave side than the convex side, generating a net force that causes the entire cup assembly to rotate. The rotational speed of the shaft is directly proportional to wind speed — the stronger the wind, the faster the rotation. This rotation is then converted into an electrical signal (typically via an optical sensor, Hall effect sensor, or a small generator on the shaft), which is read by a microcontroller and processed into a wind speed value in units of m/s or km/h. In the ANEMOTANI design, the anemometer is mounted on top of a weatherproof electronic housing containing the microcontroller and signal-processing circuitry, supported by a wooden or metal pole, and powered by a solar panel to allow independent operation in the middle of rice field areas.
