The spacer is needed when installing a early style cast valve cover. Because of the extra thickness of the valve cover it can run in to the thermostat housing. This allows a space for clearance and room to run fuel and vacuum lines between them for a cleaner install. Can be made from any desired thickness or material as needed. I have made from aluminum or steel. Got tired of looking for and making from scratch. So here you go. I use with FELPRO #5021 qty 2.
