A novel cryogenic recuperator inspired by microchannel plate heat exchangers and compatible with laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing using AlSi10Mg aluminum alloy. It consists of 80 ultra-thin honeycomb patterned plate produced with casing as a single unit. The overall model consists of only two seperate parts; a heat transfer chamber and lid, which are both printed seperately and then joined via TIG or laser welding. Reduced manual assembly leads to reduced labour and production cost. Calculated performance metrics include; Effectiveness: 0.9871 Power Density: 4,895W/kg Pressure drop: 3%
