Makertribe NASA Handrail Clamp · 模型 56859
Makertribe’s approach to this design was guided by the following principles; 1) One single part. Why have lot’s of bits floating around making life difficult when you just need one piece. 2) No moving parts. The design needs to be suitable for the manufacturing process. Sure you can make moving parts with FDM 3D printers, but they need finishing / wearing in before the work well. 3) Minimum use of material. This is improved by including cavities inside the design. The strap that grips the handrail is 0.8mm thick, therefore it will slice with a 2 shell thickness and remain strong and flexible. 4) Ergonomic. The finger hold for the clip is big enough to get a comfortable purchase on. All corners have been rounded to remove sharp edges. 5) Will print well. Perhaps the most important aspect. We anticipate that NASA would wish to select a design that had the highest guarantee of success during the print as well as during operation. This design requires no support material and will print cleanly at any resolution. Designed by Nick Insall, CEO of Makertribe Ltd (UK). www.makertribe.co.uk
