Midwest Seguin Tugboat- Improved Framing v2 · 模型 111466
The Midwest/Laughing Whale "Seguin" is a classic 1:32 scale model of an 1880's steam tugboat. Many model boaters have built the wood kit- it was my first! But it could use some improvements. This design, which is for the hull only, increases available space inside the hull with thinner frames and a lowered floor. It also lowers the prop shaft to be parallel to the keel, which is possible with a common offset geardrive motor. I have also added standoffs to allow the hull framing to be built upside down on a build board, to assure a straight hull build. The offsets' heights are indicated, you will want to make the structure stronger! The 2D PDF drawings are "A" and "E" size. See the discussion at RC Groups for more info and the original kit documents (instructions & original plans): https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?4169431-Rethinking-the-Midwest-Seguin Note that you can scratch-build this entire model from the documents, you don't need the original kit. First photo shows my own build of this tug, modified in several ways from the original kit. JPG images "frames" & "Framespacing" for illustration only, use the PDF versions for printing out.
