The design is updated to utilize servo motors to actuate the clutch instead of electromagnets. The disc with holes carries permanent magnets and is used as a clutch. Arduino is used along with a hall-effect sensor to measure the dc motor speed and actuate the necessary clutches to get desired gear ratios. The design can still be optimized to reduce the weight and thus reduce the load on the dc motor.
