Prusa RC2 Face Shield Solid Model Recreation · 模型 2770
I hate trying to work from mesh models, so I recreated the Prusa RC2 headband in Solid Edge. I did my best to make it as accurate to the original model as possible, down to very minute details (see images of overlapping models). The spacing of the hexagons is very slightly off (I wasn't able to match it perfectly in a reasonable amount of time) and I didn't worry about matching the text font (I just used Arial). Aside from those features, it should be pretty much spot on. My objective in doing this was to provide a more robust base from which remixes and revisions could be made in more traditional mechanical CAD software (Solid Edge, Solidworks, Fusion 360, etc.) since that's what I am used to using. Since it's a practically identical copy, it should be compatible with any existing shields or any other parts that were designed to interact with the original Prusa RC2 headband. I also created a version with fewer hexagons so that there would be more meat between them since I've seen that come up frequently in discussions as an issue. Other than that change, the "fewer_hexagons" model is identical to the "original" model. If you need these files in a different file format, please let me know. I can export these in most 3D model formats. UPDATE 2020-03-22: Big thanks to Bogdan Kovtun for sharing his .stp model of the bottom reinforcement; this now includes solid models for both parts.
