Rabaconda Bike Desk Tool Challenge. I'm a Racer/Rider/Creator so I have tried to cover all the areas I feel are important to me. 1). The bench needs to be a solid platform, that is why I have chosen to use 6060 aluminium RHS for the construction. 2 mm thick sheet fixed with counter sunk rivets. 2). Quick to set up. Nothing worse than having a million things to pack away on race day when you have just spent all day behind the bars. The legs use snap pins like on a quick shade to lock them in to position. The leg angles can be adjusted by the screw handles at the pivot. These are made from ABS and have a ratchet type surface so it can be locked every 10 degrees. These are also used to lock the legs closes in the folded mode. 3). Weight is around the 13-14 kgs, I think I can still reduce the thickness for a few components that will lighten up the design. Wheels are fit to allow it to be easily moved. 4). Plenty of storage for goggles, tear off and gloves on the LH side, spare parts in the draw, Tools in the lid and lubes and paper towel roll in the RH leg. 5). Cost I feel is a hard one to judge, but i feel this could be made for reasonable price.Construction is simple and could be assembled with a low skilled workforce. This design is made from Aluminium extrusion profiles, folded panels and moulded ABS plastics. The panels are riveted and screwed together. Tool box style locks are used to lock all the compartments.The draws, lid and doors are all modelled using aluminium but I think steel would also work well.
