This report presents a self-initiated 3D design and technical study of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane Assembly developed using SolidWorks Premium. The model comprises a 6-element pressure vessel rack system with detailed sub components including spiral wound membrane elements, Thin Film Composite (TFC) membrane layers, end caps, permeate collection tubes, and interconnecting manifold piping. The objective of this work is to develop a deeper understanding of RO membrane technology — its working principles, component architecture, and engineering significance — in the context of water desalination and purification. This work is directly relevant to CSIR-CSMCRI's ongoing research on high-productivity membrane design for water desalination and purification producing mineral balanced water with high water recovery.
