This seems like one of those "why the hell did you do this?" things, but trust me, there was a reason. Besides, it was fun, and awill maybe do someone some good. This is the most complicated Etch-A-Sketch you've ever seen. It's a 2-axis gantry with a tool head that carries a servo motor. It's all controlled manually with a joystick for X/Y, and 2 big buttons for Z. All plastic parts were designed & modeled by myself, and printed on my Ultimaker 2+. An Arduino Uno at the controller encodes the controls and sends them down to the machinery. There, another Arduino Uno receives the data and converts it into motions for the machine. It's big enough to write on an 5.5 x 11 sheet of paper. It uses a 12V brick power supply. In the many directories I've uploaded, you will find the software for the controllers, STL files for every plastic piece, the g-code for my Ultimaker 2+, and all the SolidWorks (2018) parts and assemblies.
