A remodeling of a tool, I found in my toolbox. It is a tool - made in U.S.A. - with the U.S. PAT. 4.730.430 I made some modifications resp. improvements, regarding the fastening and guiding of the "spanner". This tool you can use with an endless ring of sandpaper, to give surfaces a good or better looking finish. The sandpaper ring is guided and fastened by a compression spring supported "spanner", so that you can use the sandpaper continously - by moving the mechanism forward for a short way and by sliding the band on the "handle piece" forward or backward. Please use this tool - if interested for manufacturing - for your private applications only. For a commercial use you have to check, whether the patent is still valid. The original is mainly manufactured by using the method of "Injection Moulding". I don't know, whether my model is 3D-printable. But I think, it can machined by CNC-Milling. Some technical notes: The neutral length "Lo" of the compression spring = 31 mm, all other dimensions as defined in the 3D-Model. The neutral length of the sandpaper = approx. 329 mm Recommended material of the plastic parts: »ABS« or »POM« The compete assembly is available in following data formats: STEP-file (.stp) and all native files (.prt) and (.asm) in a (.zip)-folder, for users of »PTC Creo Parametric 2.0«
