As part of my Master's (notice other models related to SFL-01), This was my first attempt at developing a test system to measure engine power output & performance characteristics. This system uses an HP water pump as a load to test the power output of a gas-powered engine. Power output is calculated by applying some basic fluid mechanics and pump-laws. The BLDC is basically used to reverse engineer pump performance data/curves (volumetric efficiency, flow rates, pressure head, etc.) as specifications couldn't be found. So you're wondering, why not just use a BLDC instead? Well, the simple answer is because I'm crazy and love engineering weird things. Thanks to Nikita Chernov for saving my ass with his CY GPL290 model!
