This test model is simple and can be constructed using either 3D printing or laser cutting. The mechanism is also easy to modify based on specific requirements. To ensure reliability, several COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) components—such as the latch and spring—are integrated into the design. The mechanism operates in two ejection stages: Stage 1: A COTS rotary latch releases the pre-loaded spring. Stage 2: An adjustable clamp holds the entry vehicle securely, then releases it at full speed.
