USS LANCET — NCC-19007 The USS Lancet is my first large-scale Star Trek-inspired starship project, designed from the ground up as a long-range Starfleet exploration vessel. Slightly larger than the Intrepid-class USS Voyager, Lancet was conceived as a ship capable of operating far beyond established Federation space for extended periods without constant support from a starbase. Her wide primary hull, integrated engineering section and distinctive nacelle arrangement were designed to give the ship a recognizable Starfleet silhouette while still allowing Lancet to have an identity of her own. Lancet was built for exploration first: deep-space scientific missions, first-contact operations, planetary surveys, long-duration expeditions and emergency response. Despite her size, the vessel was never intended to be a dedicated warship. Her greatest strength is endurance. THE WHITE SILENCE INCIDENT During an unexplained deep-space mission, the USS Lancet was forced into the atmosphere of an uncharted frozen planet. The crew managed to perform an extremely hard but controlled emergency landing. The forward section struck the frozen surface first, absorbing much of the descent, while the main structure of the vessel remained intact. Lancet survived. But she could not leave. For almost an entire year, the ship remained stranded on the surface. Snow and ice slowly accumulated across her hull while her crew transformed the surrounding area into a temporary repair facility. Scaffolding, power systems, shelters and engineering stations were constructed around the vessel as teams worked continuously to restore her systems. The ship was damaged, but never abandoned. Her windows remained illuminated. Her reactors remained online. And her crew continued working. The exact cause of the incident was never fully understood. Starfleet records would later refer to the event simply as: “The White Silence.” USS Lancet represents one of my earliest major attempts at designing a complete Star Trek-style starship, and the project has continued to evolve as my modeling and design skills have improved. The original geometry and overall character of the vessel have intentionally been preserved. Designed and modeled in SolidWorks.
