Swirl Magnetic Chess Set · 模型 8149
Custom-designed chess set with a swirling column piece design. Inspired by a few sets I had seen online. Magnets are integrated into the design to ensure the pieces don't get knocked over or off the board. Oversized negatives of the piece profiles are contained within the board for storage. Each piece is actually 3 pieces; the body, screw cap, and magnet plug. The set uses 8mm (OD) x 3mm (thick) magnets. 108 total magnets are required for the assembly. Renders show the assembly as I have printed, using a glossy black PLA for the board, and silk PLA in purple and silver for the pieces and tiles. The base is a 10.4" (264mm) square and is printable in a single piece with a large enough printer (I use an Ender 5+). I have printed the pieces with success and would recommend using supports on the king and knight near the top (can use a support blocker if they show up anywhere else). In the case that the base is too large, the .step file may be split and the board pieces can be printed individually and bonded or fastened together. The stl files for the board and pieces are attached in the folders and are ready for printing. A step assembly is attached for anyone who wants to have a solid 3D file.
