A PVC pipe of approximately 8 inch diameter buried one foot under the surface of the average size family lawn (7751 sq Ft) according to https://www.lawnstarter.com/ca should yield a possible 1370 us gallons of rain water if connected to the average home rain water down pipe. this can then be fitted with an automatic sprinkler system which could be solar powered or just pumped back for other use. The system would require a slight gradient to allow the water to collect but nothing to much. The picture of the black pipe is to provide an example of the kind of piping possibly required. This kind of system could be built with every new home or retro fitted to existing homes depending on available garden space. There is also the possibility of using this as part of a heat recovery system where heat is extracted from the ground and passed back into the home of even used to convert to energy. The connector is designed such that a rubber collar type boot can be fitted round the neck and the top of which can be made to stretch and adapt to most sizes of rain water waste down pipes.
