F100-PW-229 · 模型 114464
The F-100 PW-229 is a low-bypass afterburning turbofan engine produced by American aerospace company Pratt & Whitney. It is arguably one of the most influential fighter jet engines ever produced. The engine is an updated variant of the F-100 generic targeted as a formidable competitor to the General Electric F-110 GE-129. It has 3 fans, 10 compressor stages and 2 low-pressure and 2 high-pressure turbine stages. The engine can produce up to 18,000 pounds of thrust in normal cruise and up to 27,000 pounds while afterburner enabled. Two F-100 PW-229s power the McDonnell Douglas F-15E, also known as the “Strike Eagle” and a single engine powering the General Electric F-16C “Fighting Falcon”, better known as “The Viper”. Making them two of the most lethal all-weather fighter/interceptor aircrafts still in service in US Air Forces and other countries around the world including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Poland. Since the 1980’s to this day, The Pratt & Whitney F-100 PW-229 variant is powering USAF’s most influential aircrafts to as high as 9G aerial maneuvers and a top speed of Mach 2.5.
