RASSOR Bucket Design · 模型 164399
My design is based on the concept of having no mechanical risk of failure, maximum fill ratio, and equal weight distribution. This design features serrated, titanium blades that work to break up any hard or frozen regolith, as well as filtering out any large, unwanted rocks while pushing the material to a central opening. Once inside, the regolith will be forced to the outer edges of the drum by a fixed, internal auger. Rotating the drum counterclockwise performs the excavation while rotating clockwise unloads the drum. This design makes it so that there is only one large entry point. While this may potentially slow down the loading and unloading process, it would maximize the amount of regolith captured per trip, therefore reducing the number of trips needed for the same amount of regolith captured. The materials that I chose to use in the construction consist of, titanium, carbon fiber, and ABS plastic. Each of these materials was selected based on their weight and durability. The outer hull is to be made of 3mm thick carbon fiber and the internal auger is 4mm ABS plastic. For this design, I was aiming for the highest possible fill ratio. Theoretically, since there is only one opening with a cutting edge of 114 mm, the fill ratio should be about 85% or higher. Other Specs: Length: 360 mm Blade Diameter: Tooth to Tooth on blade 375mm Drum Diameter: 325mm Total Mass: 4.41 kg Volume of the drum: 24.55 L Materials: Carbon Fiber, ABS Plastic, Titanium
